This project was largely inspired by the textures found in and around the site, in the centre of Ottawa’s small but mighty Chinatown: a neighbourhood with a tight-knit community that is rapidly being pushed out due to rapid gentrification and a housing crisis. This centre was a refuge for the community members to have a space to meet.
